Movie Reviews: Wimbledon, Elf, & Wicker Park

My wife and I had our usual array of new movies available to watch this weekend. Here’s what we watched and what I thought.
Wimbledon – Believe it or not, Wimbeldon was not all that bad. It is of course a love story and at times my wife and I felt that Paul Bettany’s character was a bit too old to be having a relationship with Kirsten Dunst but in the end the movie was still pretty good. This one receives 3.75 stars.
Elf – I haven’t seen many of Will Ferrell’s movies so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with Elf. There are some hilarious moments and some not so. If you are a fan I’m sure it’s one of your favorites but I just wasn’t as impressed as I would have liked. I give this one 3 stars.
Wicker Park – My wife and I went in with low expectations for this one just because I’d heard that it started out good and then kind of trailed off till the end. We definetly agree with that statement. It’s your classic love story where the two constantly just miss each other. It’s incredibly frustrating at times, you just want to reach into the tv and smack them silly. Again, I’ll give this one a 3.75 star rating.
We still have Dawn of the Dead but that’s one my wife isn’t all excited about seeing so I need to find a time to watch it when the family isn’t around.
Elf is a good Ferrell movie, but his “classicness” shows through in Old School (one of my favorite movies with him in it), and of course, on Saturday Night Live.
