Movie Reviews: Cellular, Aliens vs Predator, Dawn of the Dead, and The Terminal

Managed to tear through four new movies this past weekend. Always nice to have some decent movies to watch come Friday evening.

Cellular: I didn’t expect much from this one. For me this was pretty much Phone Booth on a cell phone with a little twist. The acting wasn’t great but not bad either. It’s worth watching. I’m giving this one 3.5 stars.

Aliens vs Predator: This movie surprised me. I was excited about it but wasn’t sure how it would turn out as a movie. I’ve been told that it works well as a comic so I was hopefull. All in all it wasn’t all that bad. The special effects and surround were really cool. The acting wasn’t Oscar worthy but I didn’t expect that anyways. Even my wife enjoyed this one. This one gets 4.25 stars.

Dawn of the Dead: I’ve only had this from Netflix now for about three weeks. Finally got a chance to watch it while the family was out of the house. I expected a lot of gore from what I’d read and it definetly lived up to the reviews. Nothing really new here in terms of plot for a zombie movie. Pretty decent effects and lots of tense moments. Have to give this one 3.75 stars.

The Terminal: I was not all that excited about seeing this because I’d heard it was a bit boring. Surprisingly though I found myself really liking this movie. Tom Hanks is such a great actor that you can’t help but like [most] everything he does. Going to go with a 4 star rating on this one.
