Down go the Chargers, next up, the Colts!

Last nights win leaves me both excited and let down.

The Patriots did what they do best, win games. It wasn’t pretty though and in fact, I kind of feel bad for San Diego because they played a great game, and owned us most of the game.

The win this time though should really be credited to Troy Brown, a long time Patriots veteran utility player, managed to cause a San Diego fumble seconds after they intercepted Brady on 4th down. This gave us another shot at the end zone, which Brady executed beautifully. The two-point conversion was needed and executed with creativity, leaving the Chargers shaking their heads as the game was tied at 21.

The Patriots, as they have in so many years past, won yesterdays playoff game by a field goal. This year though it wasn’t Adam Vinatieri, who is one of the best clutch kickers in the game, instead it was rookie Stephen Gostkowski.

Next week it’s the Colts, a long standing rival. Here’s hoping the game is a good one, regardless of outcome.

Patriots beat the Jaguars 28-3!

What a game. After the Patriots won the Super Bowl last year and with all the coaching changes that occurred post-Super Bowl I really didn’t expect much from the team. Given their record early in the season and all the injuries they sustained I never expected them to see the playoffs. I’m thrilled that they are in them.

After last nights defeat of the Jaguars, I think it’s safe to say they are back and in a good way (for all you Patriots fans). The game was very close in the first half, but in the second half they kicked into gear and just took over.

It was an impressive win.

Theo stepping down!?

Wow! While I’d heard rumblings over the past day or so that Theo and the Red Sox were having troubles making a deal to keep him, I certainly didn’t expect this.

Scary moment for Patriots fans

While this happened middle of last week, I just couldn’t let it go without saying something. New England Patriots star, Teddy Bruschi was admitted into Mass General on Wednesday after suffering a mild stroke (so says the news).

From what I’ve been able to piece together over the past few days he has been released and is doing fine. When I heard the news the other day I was mortified, he is by far my favorite player on the Patriots (I love them all, but he’s always stepping up when necessary, and he’s such a cool and collected individual).

Our thoughts and prayers definetly go out to the Bruski family.

Read more about it here and here.

D is for Dynasty!

Well they did it. It wasn’t all that pretty but they did it. Final score was Patriots 24, Eagles 21.

It was a nail biter for everyone that had any interest in these two teams.

The first quarter was really bad, both teams couldn’t get any offense going and there were some really ugly blunders on both sides. Finally in the second quarter both teams started to get things moving and seemed to continue a bit into the second half.

The Eagles could have won if they’d done a better job of managing the clock. My wife and I were yelling: Why aren’t they hurrying up?

Thankfully there was no “questionable” calls at all through the game which made this a pretty clean game in that sense.

In the end, the Patriots D just did what they do best, hold on and win games.

It’s a great time to be a New England sports fan.

Did someone say Dynasty?

Patriots and Eagles in the Super Bowl. This is going to be another good one. The Steelers fought hard and believe me when I say I have no fingernails left.

Patriots win 41-27!

Patriots 20, Colts 3!

What a game, at least if you are a Patriots fan. It was close for the first half but then the boys in blue stepped up and dominated the most explosive offensive in the league. What a win. Bring on the Steelers! We did it 3 years ago, we can do it again!
